The second World Humanoid Robot Games, also called the 'Robot Olympics,' will be held in Beijing from August 22 to 26. This year, more than 2,000 humanoid (人形的) robots from 16 countries and regions will compete in 51 events. Last year, only about 500 robots joined. The games are getting much bigger!

There will be many new sports this year. Robots will try high jump, weightlifting, tug-of-war, and table tennis for the first time. These events test how well robots can think, move, and control their bodies. The games also have more real-life tasks now. For example, in the Integrated Pentathlon, a robot must run 100 meters while carrying heavy things and passing items. This shows if a robot understands the world around it and can use its whole body well.

Another new event is about hand skills. Robots will use tools to put things together and even use tweezers (镊子) to pick up small beans. This tests their ability to see tiny things and move very carefully.

The Robot Olympics is not just for fun. It helps scientists make better robots for our daily lives. The games now include 21 different scenarios (场景), like at home, in hotels, and for delivering packages. Last year, there were only six.

China held the first Robot Olympics last August. It was the world's first big competition for humanoid robots. With more robots and more events, this year's games will be even more exciting. Who knows? Maybe one day, robots will do all our chores!
